A brilliant Besart Berisha finish at the death has secured Melbourne Victory a 2-1 win over Adelaide United at AAMI Park.

Looking for their first ever finals win away from home, Adelaide started the game brightly but struggled to break down a well-organised Victory defence.

It would be Kevin Muscat's side that issued the first shot on target when a Terry Antonis free-kick was saved comfortably by Paul Izzo in the 23rd minute.

After a first 45 minutes to forget, the Reds would find the opener in the 57th minute with Isaias taking a free-kick quickly to find Nikola Mileusnic, who snuck past the Victory defence and poked the ball beyond Lawrence Thomas.

Just six minutes later Leroy George would head Victory level however after being picked out by Kosta Barbarouses in the box with a quiet first half turning into an enthralling second.

With less than a minute of regular time remaining it would be Besart Berisha that once again proved decisive as his bicycle kick to the bottom left of goal secured Victory a 2-1 win.

Berisha's eighth straight goal in finals ensuring a semi-final showdown for Victory against Sydney FC next Saturday.
