Mbao FC signs a sponsorship deal with GF Truck & Equipment

TFF spokesman Alfred Lucas, said under the deal, the sponsors will buy a team bus worth Tanzania Shillings 70m/- whereas the rest of the cash will go straight into Mbao FC coffers for everyday running of the club.

Details of the contracts, though, have not been revealed.

"We are happy that Mbao FC has found a sponsor who will be with them for undisclosed period, we hope the contract will help to improve the team’s performance in the league," Lucas said.

The Mwanza outfit, which is featuring in the Mainland Premier League for the second year, had been depending on handouts from well-wishers and money from the league’s main sponsors, Vodacom Company.

Mbao FC chairman, Solly Njashi, said the financial boost means a lot to the club.“We thank GF Truck &Equipment Company a lot for the sponsorship, the support will help us meet our targets this season,” Njashi revealed.

He said the club is keen on performing well this season, noting the sponsorship will help the outfit’s plan reach fruition.GF Truck &Equipment Company’s representative, Imran Karmali, said the firm had previously not entered contract with any of the Mainland Premier League side.

Karmali revealed the company has opted to offer sponsorship to the outfit with the aim of seeing to it that the team fulfill its plans, particularly after having seen the team make it to the final of the Azam Sports Federation Cup last season.

"We know most of domestic soccer outfits are finding it difficult to meet transport costs, that is why we have opted to hand the club a bus, we closely watched Mbao FC’s performance last season, we believe they will excel this season,” he disclosed.

Mbao FC will, for that matter, have the GF Truck &Equipment Company’s logo on the outfit’s jerseys for two years.The team has enjoyed an impressive start this season after posting a 1-0 win over Kagera Sugar at the latter’s venue on August 26.
