Mathare United wonder-kid registers his happiness after first league match

New Mathare United sensational youngster David 'Messi' Owino eyes extended playing time with the 'Slum boys' after a starring performance last weekend.

Despite his strong performance and scoring a winner against Thika United, the U-20 international has been quoted by the club's portal saying he was really nervous, but he is happy with his massive contribution that helped the Francis Kimanzi led side secure the three points.

Tusker blasted for 'underrating Nzoia Sugar'

"I was a bit tensed because this was my first time at this stage. However the first touches I had, made me settle into the game and I began expressing myself freely on the pitch.

"I am happy with my performance because I did not expect to score and provide an assist in my first match. It is unbelievable! I want to put in more effort in training and get more playing time in the upcoming matches."

The 'Slum boys' will be away to Nzoia Sugar in their next assignment.
