Mathare United duo released on deadline day

Mathare United trimmed their squad further on the last day of transfer window

Defender Thomas Wanyama and midfielder Erick Mata will not be part of Mathare United's team for the 2017 Kenyan Premier League season. 

The two have been part of the team preparing for the new season, but it seems they have been deemed as surplus to requirements. The club, on their official facebook account, announced the development.

Mathare United sign former Vihiga United defender

"Eric Mata and Thomas Wanyama will not be part of the senior team for the 2017 campaign after the technical bench deemed them surplus to requirements. We would like to appreciate the duo for their services in the last three seasons. We also wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors."

Mathare United have this season lost a host of players including Obadiah Ndege, Robinson Kamura, Whyvonne Isuza among others.
