The Brazil defender says there will be no room for niceties on Friday when he faces off against his PSG team-mate on the Brasil Global Tour

Brazil defender Marquinhos says he and Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani agree there will be no room for friendships on Friday when the two face off on the Brasil Global Tour.

The Paris Saint-Germain team-mates will line up on opposite sides at the Emirates Stadium for what will be the Selecao’s penultimate match of 2018.

And Marquinhos is expecting a cracker, insisting Cavani and his strike-partner Luis Suarez will pose a constant danger to a Brazil defence that has conceded just 8 goals 24 matches under coach Tite.

“We spoke at PSG and joked about it, but during the game we will put our friendship (with Cavani) aside because we are playing for our national teams,” Marquinhos said on Tuesday.

"Cavani came to PSG more or less at the same time as me. In the dressing room, we usually sit next to one another.

"He is a good guy, a very hard worker, and I only have good things to say about him.

"I don't know Suarez very well, but I believe he and Cavani have a similar style. They have that Uruguayan style and for them losing the ball almost doesn't exit.

"They consider their team-mates and are always working for others. Both are very challenging opponents.

"They’re a really a powerful front-two. I have faced them before and I know very well how much quality they have.”

Brazil take on Uruguay in an international friendly at Emirates Stadium, London on 16 November (KO 8pm). Tickets from £30/£15 on sale at
