Maritzburg United boss Kadodia reacts to Rusike to Orlando Pirates reports

Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Maritzburg United has refuted reports stating that the club have agreed to sell Evans Rusike to Orlando Pirates.

The Zimbabwe international is known to be a long-term target for Chiefs, who are coached by former Maritzburg head coach Steve Komphela.

On Monday, it was reported that the Team of Choice striker would be joining Pirates at the end of the current season after the two teams agreed to a deal.

However, when contacted by Goal, Maritzburg chairman Farouk Kadodia insisted that Bucs had not tabled an offer for the 26-year-old forward.

"No, that's not true. There's no such thing. We are yet to receive an offer from Pirates for Rusike," Kadodia told Goal.

Rusike, who has also been linked with reigning PSL champions Mamelodi Sundowns, remains a key member of the Team of Choice team this season.

The former Kiglon striker has netted three goals in 20 league appearances for the KwaZulu-Natal side thus far.

He represented Zimbabwe at the recent 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Gabon.
