Manchester United v Benfica Betting: Comfortable victory for Red Devils as round of 16 awaits

With the Eagles looking well off the pace in the Champions League this season, Al Hain-Cole expects Mourinho's confident side to secure an easy win

Manchester United will be hoping to secure their place in the Champions League knockout stages when they welcome Benfica to Old Trafford on Tuesday.
Top of Group A with nine points from nine, the Red Devils are on offer at 1/3 (1.33) with Paddy Power to record a victory that would see them through to the last 16 should CSKA Moscow fail to win away at Basel in the other clash.
Rui Vitoria’s men are rock bottom with zero points after three matches, but can be backed at 9/1 (10.00) to keep their slim chances of progression alive by pulling off a shock win here.

The sides shared a 2-2 draw when they last met on this ground back in 2011, and there are odds of 4/1 (5.00) available on them sharing the spoils once again in this one.
Following on from a 1-1 draw in Lisbon in the first encounter, that 2-2 stalemate six years ago helped the Eagles to progress to the knockout stages alongside Basel and ahead of their more favoured English opponents.
However, while the Swiss team are once again looking likely to finish in the top two this campaign, the Portuguese champions have been utterly disappointing in European competition.

As well as a shock defeat against CSKA and a 1-0 loss against United in their opening two home matches, Vitoria’s team were thrashed 5-0 by Basel in their only away match.

Considering those performances so far, it is difficult to see the guests competing with a home side in fine spirits after an extremely significant 1-0 victory over a quality Tottenham team at the weekend.

With seven wins, 22 goals scored and just one conceded in seven matches at Old Trafford this season, odds of 10/11 (1.91) are surely too good to pass up on United winning by at least two goals against a poor Benfica side.
