Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly looking to open talks with Percy Tau

According to reports, Masandawana are looking to keep hold of their prized talent

Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly looking to tie down Percy Tau on a new and improved deal.

Tau has been one of Sundowns’ most influential players having already bagged himself five goals in the league this season, contributing several assists in the process. But most notably, it has been Tau’s performances in the absence of the outgoing Khama Billiat that has seen his stock rise and has earned him praise from many including his coach Pitso Mosimane.

Nonetheless, Tau’s recent performances which included a crucial goal against Maritzburg United in midweek, has reportedly led the club to consider opening talks with the 23-year-old over a new deal at Chloorkop.

Tau though still has a year left on his current deal, but following Sundowns’ handling of several of their star players’ contracts over recent season which has seen a potential player exodus on the cards should they choose not to commit to new deals before the end of the season, it seems Sundowns have learnt their lesson and are keen on extending the attacker’s stay at the club.

Nevertheless, Tau is believed to be happy at the club and if reports are indeed true, he is likely to commit to a new deal which will keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.
