Majeed Waris and Moukandjo aim to get Lorient back to winning ways against Metz

When Lorient meet Metz on Saturday night, they will hope that their African strike force of Abdul Majeed Waris and Benjamin Moukandjo fire on all cylinders.

The duo has been responsible for 20 goals this season, the Ghanaian has scored eight in 30 matches while the Cameroonian has scored 12 in 23.

Their three-match winning streak that lifted them off the bottom of the table into 18th place was snapped last weekend in a 2-0 loss to Montpellier.

However, this weekend is another opportunity to continue the upward climb in order to guarantee a place in Ligue 1 for next season.

In contrast, Metz have won one and drawn one out of their last five matches and lie in 15th spot on 36 points. Their attack is led by Malian Cheick Diabate who has scored seven goals in 11 games while Turkish veteran Mevluc Erdinc has scored six goals in 22 matches.

Lorient lead Metz in head-to-head having won three of their last five matches with Metz taking one and the last being a draw.

The game will take place at 18:00 GMT.
