The Anambra Warriors’ midfielder has opened up on what helped his performance against the Savannah Scorpions

FC IfeanyiUbah’s Isaac Loute reveals the drive to improve on past showings inspired his two-goal cameo against Gombe United on Sunday.

The Benin Republic midfielder produced an awe-inspiring display as he netted two superb free kicks in their 2-2 draw against the Savannah Scorpions at the Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium.

“I always set goals before myself at the start of every season and part of my goals is to ensure that I perform better than I did the previous season and also to ensure that I score too,” Loute told Goal.

"I even like to bomb forward from the back if I am asked to play in the defence because of my desire not to end the entire season without scoring. I didn’t play too many matches at the beginning of the season and now that I am playing I really wanted to score to show the hard work I have been putting into the team.

On FC IfeanyiUbah surrendering their two-goal lead against Gombe United to share the spoils, Loute says: “It was unfortunate that we could not hold our first half advantage in the second half. We tried everything possible to prevent the two goals from going in but we were powerless. It is football and we must take the outcome in our strides. We have another opportunity to rectify the errors we committed in the last game when we face Abia Warriors this weekend.”
