Lobi Stars will head to Ado Ekiti on Tuesday for the next phase of their build-up to the start of the new season and their campaign in the Caf Champions League.
The Pride of Benue have been in Ijebu Ode for the past few weeks shaping up for the defense of the league title they won last season and after rounding off the first phase of their preparations, team manager Barnabas Imenger revealed that they are traveling to Ado Ekiti to be involved in more friendly matches.
According to him, their stay in Ado Ekiti will last for about 10 days will afford them the opportunity to face topflight teams and get acquainted with the players they intend using for the continental assignment and the league.
“We have almost finished our programme in Ijebu Ode and by tomorrow (Tuesday) we shall be going to Ado Ekiti for a preseason tournament that will enable us to see the new players better,” Imenger told Goal.
“We have had a series of practice sessions and also played friendly matches too. We were able to play eight matches and we won four and drew four matches also. We played against tough academy teams and we were happy that they offered us what we wanted.
“We are going to play few games in Ado Ekiti and from there proceed to Asaba for the Super Cup with Enugu Rangers. We are sure that by the time we are playing the Super Cup, we should have the right blend of players that will make us proud in all competitions next season.”
