Liverpool team news: Van Dijk on bench while Henderson starts at Huddersfield

The centre-back is named in reserve with the skipper in the XI as Jurgen Klopp makes six changes at John Smith's Stadium

Jordan Henderson is back in Liverpool’s starting line-up, but Virgil van Dijk has to settle for substitute status at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night.

The captain resumes his role at the base of midfield for the first time from the off since the 3-3 draw at Arsenal in December.

Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain move to the bench, with James Milner earning a spot in the centre of the park.

Dejan Lovren switches in for the £75 million defender, meanwhile, with Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson taking up the full-back slots.

Loris Karius replaces Simon Mignolet in goal in Jurgen Klopp’s sixth and final change for the encounter.

Huddersfield: Lossl; Hadergjonaj, Kongolo, Schindler, Zanka, Löwe; Mooy, Hogg, Billing; Mounie, Depoitre.
