The Reds are winless in their last five games against their hosts in all competitions - their worst run since February 1965.
Roberto Firmino and Lucas are both fitness doubts, with the former feeling a slight muscle issue and the latter trying to shake off two niggles.
“We spoke about Roberto. Since a few weeks [ago] we have to manage the intensity in training,” Klopp explained at Melwood.
“It’s a little bit another muscle which he feels. Everybody can imagine, Roberto is a real mentality player, so he wants always [to play]. We need to make the decisions for him sometimes.
“We left him out of training. It’s a muscle thing. We have to wait and give him as much time as possible.
“Lucas, after the game, [felt the same]. I asked both a lot of times, ‘OK? OK?’ and everybody said ‘Yes, yes’. After the game they felt it.
“After the game, Lucas felt two different muscles and we said ‘OK, we have to wait also’. Lucas could be back in training today, we have to see. Roberto, tomorrow if possible. Then we make the decisions.”
Jordan Henderson has been sidelined for the past three months with a foot problem and Klopp is taking a patient approach with his captain.
"We stay positive because he is strong. The moment someone gives him the green light he will be back in a second because of his attitude and character," the Reds boss explained.
“I am not thinking about the start of pre-season, but that would be the latest moment he is back. We have not made a final judgment for this season.
“We don’t know if he will back tomorrow in training or next week but because it is Jordan and he has a really high fitness level, even if it is just swimming, we know we can think about him immediately when he is ready.”
Sadio Mane, meanwhile, revealed he "will be running again soon" as he steps up his rehabilitation from meniscus damage to his left knee.
Neither side has any suspension worries.
LIVERPOOL POTENTIAL STARTING LINE-UP
Klopp has revealed both Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana are ready to start on Sunday.
"We have two more options, if nothing else happens," said the German.
“I’ve said it a few times, as long as we have 11, we will fight.”
Klopp could opt to field both from the off given Liverpool's issues in the final third, as well as the fresh doubts he has to contend with.
Firmino tends to recover quickly, though, and the Reds will be hoping that will be the case this weekend.
There is also the option for Klopp to field both Divock Origi and Sturridge in a 4-4-2 diamond, with the pair working well in tandem in the past.
WEST HAM TEAM NEWS
“It won’t be an easy trip, we know that," Klopp said of Sunday's visit to London Stadium.
"It really makes sense that we are really concentrated on West Ham. They are also in a positive season-finishing mood - no pressure anymore, they try to get results somehow.
"Everyone saw the Tottenham game; Tottenham had the pressure and had to make the game, then they [the Hammers] make the counter-attack and they scored and Tottenham couldn’t come back, so that’s part of football."
Slaven Bilic's side are unbeaten in their last five, with their 1-0 victory over Spurs seeing a third consecutive clean sheet.
They will be difficult to break down, especially if Liverpool continue to stutter in the final third and Manuel Lanzini will be determined to extend his superb form.
Andy Carroll will not feature against his former club due to a minor groin problem.
Captain Mark Noble requires surgery for an abdominal problem and Cheikhou Kouyate is going under the knife to rectify a wrist problem.
Michail Antonio and Diafra Sakho are also sidelined.
