Mohamed Salah is hoping that Liverpool will do all within their power to beat Manchester United to finish second in the English Premier League this season.

The 25-year-old has been phenomenal for the Anfield outfit since joining in last summer, with his immense output helping the side to sit third in the league.

Salah has hit 30 league goals for Jurgen Klopp's side who are currently four points adrift of second-placed Manchester United.

And with four matches remaining before the end of the season, the diminutive Egypt forward has set his sights on usurping Jose Mourinho's men to finish behind league champions Manchester City.

“I have to carry on, [there are] still some games to go and we have to finish second, we keep fighting for that and I hope we reach [it],” Salah told Premier League Productions.

“For me, it’s better to finish second. I know the first four places play Champions League next year but it’s always better to finish second than third or fourth.

“If you look back on the history, you have to finish first, you have to win the Premier League.

“But it’s always better to be [in a higher position] – first, second, third. If you didn’t win it, second is [best],” he added.

The former AS Roma attacker will be hoping for a positive result in Saturday's Premier League clash as Liverpool take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns.
