The Brazil international goalkeeper has become a much sought-after asset, with his current club hoping to fend off interest by agreeing fresh terms

The transfer door remains open to Liverpool and Real Madrid in their pursuits of Alisson, with the Roma goalkeeper yet to discuss a new contract.

With the Brazil international attracting mounting interest from afar, it has been suggested that fresh terms will be tabled in the Italian capital.

Roma are understandably reluctant to part with a prized asset and are eager to avoid leaving themselves vulnerable when the summer transfer window opens.

An offer to double Alisson’s wages was said to have been put to the talented 25-year-old, but his representative claims no discussions have been held.

Ze Maria Neis told Tele Radio Stereo: “We still haven’t talked to Roma.

“Alisson is settled though and he likes the club and the city.”

Liverpool have been linked with a big-money move for Alisson for some time now, with the Reds expected to be in the market for an upgrade on Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

Real Madrid have also been placed in the mix after spending a number of years monitoring Premier League stars David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois.

Alisson would be a useful option for both of the interested parties, with his fine form for club and country having seen him branded “the Messi of goalkeepers”.

Roma, though, have warned at regular intervals that any rival plotting an approach for their South American star will be given short shrift.

Club president James Pallotta told Sky Sport Italia recently: I don’t have any intention of selling Alisson. I know that several clubs have said that they want him, Liverpool being one of them, but he has a contract with us.

“I’m sure some team will come up with a sack of money to sign him, but for now the decision lies with the coach and Monchi, and we don’t want to sell him.”
