FC Cincinnati hoping big-money offer will tempt Gomez
FC Cincinnati are hoping to beat Sevilla to the signing of Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez from Atalanta, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The MLS club have made a bid of €6 million (£5.3m/$7.3m) for 32-year-old and are ready to offer him around €10 million (£8.8m/$12m) a year in wages.
However, that bumper offer may not be enough to lure the forward to America as he would prefer to remain in a higher standard of league for now.
Ibarra heading to Atlanta
Atlanta United are closing in on the signing of midfielder Franco Ibarra from Argentinos Juniors, according to reporter Cesar Luis Merlo.
Atlanta are keen to bring in a defensive midfielder to the club this window and have turned their attentions to the 19-year-old.
Ibarra has made 11 league appearances for Argentinos Juniors since making his debut at the end of 2019.
Torres leaves Seattle for Costa Rica
Roman Torres has left Seattle Sounders to sign a one-year deal with C.S. Cartagines in Costa Rica.
Torres made just three substitute appearances in his second spell at the Sounders since rejoining the club in a trade with Inter Miami in September.

Baggies eye Benteke
West Brom are considering a bid for Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke, reports the Express and Star.
Baggies boss Sam Allardyce is keen to add a striker to his squad this month and turned his attentions to the Belgian, who he worked with during his time as manager at Selhurst Park.
Former Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa is also due to train with West Brom this week, while Galatasaray forward Mbaye Diagne is a potential target.
Liverpool close in on Derby youngster
Liverpool are set to beat a host of Premier League rivals to the signing of Derby teenager Kaide Gordon, according to the Telegraph.
Manchester United and Tottenham were also showing an interest in the 16-year-old forward, but it is the Reds who look to have won the race.
Derby do not want see Gordon but are set to reluctantly accept a bid worth more than £1 million ($13.6m).

AC Milan have rejected a bid from Everton for Rafael Leao, according to Calciomercato.
The Toffees submitted an offer in the region of €30 million (£26m/$36m) for the Portuguese forward as they seek back-up to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However the Rossoneri rejected the bid out of hand as it is nowhere near their valuation of the 21-year-old.
