Tuchel challenges Hudson-Odoi to live up to potential 

Thomas Tuchel is set to be offered a new contract at the end of the season after leading Chelsea to the Champions League final. According to <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9568167/Chelsea-set-reward-Thomas-Tuchel-new-three-year-deal-summer.html">the Daily Mai</a>l,&nbsp;there are clauses in the 18-month deal that the coach signed in January that entitle him to an extension if he hits certain targets. However, the club wants to skip right on ahead and hand him a new deal with two guaranteed years and an option for a third.

Tuchel set for new Chelsea deal

Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Watford are chasing the signature of former Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta, reports <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9562691/Newcastle-Crystal-Palace-Watford-English-sides-ex-Chelsea-winger-Gael-Kakuta.html">the&nbsp;Daily Mail</a>. Kakuta was with Chelsea from 2007-15 but made just 16 total appearances for the club around several loan spells. And now three Premier League clubs are weighing up summer bids for the 29-year-old, who is currently on loan at Lens from Amiens.

Tuchel pays tribute to Lampard

Energetic forward Marcel Lewis has agreed to leave Chelsea when his contract expires and join Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise. The 19-year-old's move is expected to be made official this evening and he has signed a four-year contract. Despite his relative youth, he will compete for a first-team starting spot next season and retains links to English football, with the club being linked to Brighton through their owner Tony Bloom. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/brighton-star-lamptey-making-chelsea-regret-selling-so-soon/1iqhwosgbwsha1m7c8qvmbz33r" target="_blank">Brighton previously raided Chelsea's academy to sign Tariq Lamptey</a>, who was a regular starter, before suffering a severe hamstring injury. Championship clubs Huddersfield and Derby were said to be tracking Lewis during his time&nbsp;in Chelsea’s academy.

A decision is expected to be made this week regarding where Chelsea's Champions League final against Manchester City on May 29 will be played. The Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul is currently scheduled to host the showpiece event, but the coronavirus situation in Turkey means Wembley and Portugal have been mooted as alternative venues. When asked if he had a preference over where the game will be played, Tuchel told a press conference: "No absolutely not, the preference is to play it and to arrive wherever necessary.&nbsp; "The good thing for me is we have top guys on the subject involved in talks with UEFA and with everybody who is involved in that decision, which is the best thing for me, because the people know what they are doing, and they will inform us when there is a decision to be informed about. And we'll adapt to whatever it is."

Tuchel has no Champions League final venue preference

Thomas Tuchel has taken Chelsea to an FA Cup final and Champions League final in his short time as manager, but he has not forgotten the foundations laid by former boss Frank Lampard. When asked how much credit is due to his predecessor for Chelsea’s achievements this season, Tuchel said: "For sure, you can only arrive in a final of the FA Cup or Champions League if you make it through the group stage.&nbsp;And Frank had an amazing record in the group stage of the Champions League and won all the FA Cup games that were there to win too. “So, this laid the foundation to arrive in the finals, and I will never forget it.&nbsp;We don't feel ashamed or have any fear to say this out loud. And it felt like this the first day I came in here.&nbsp; “I'm well aware Frank created his own legacy here at Chelsea as a player and then tried to make it even bigger as a coach. And still it had nothing to do with me, but we are well aware we've stepped in for the second half of the season and have tried to fulfil the job he has begun. “He has one of the biggest legacies, is one of the biggest players and key figures of this club. And he represents everything, when you think about Chelsea, you think about Frank Lampard.&nbsp;The way he is and how he played football, that showed his character.”

Tuchel will never forget Lampard's work at Chelsea

Unsurprisingly, Thomas Tuchel is full of praise for his number one goalkeeper who has been hugely influential in the matches against Real Madrid and Manchester City in the last week. "Yes, I think we cannot praise him enough because he is doing fantastically because he comes not only from Ligue 1 to the Premier League but from a club that is not used to playing every three days," Tuchel said at his press conference ahead of Arsenal. "Now he is at a club where there's a match every three or four days. His concentration has remained incredibly high and that's what you have to deliver as a goalkeeper. With the three goalkeepers, in general, there is a fantastic atmosphere. "They are all great guys with Willy Caballero and Kepa. All three guys are fantastic guys and they are really examples of sportsmanship and the commitment to team sports. We are very happy to have Edou who is a very calm and humble person. "This calmness helps him during matches to influence the defenders. It is nice and he is part of an outstanding goalkeeper group. Everybody wishes the best of all three goalkeepers. Without strong guys in the goal, you cannot win games."
