Harambee Stars will face the Walya Antelopes for the second time in four days knowing that a win will improve their chances

Former Harambee Stars midfielder Simon Mulama is confident that Kenya will get maximum points against Ethiopia in an Afcon qualifier on Sunday.

Harambee Stars will face the Walya Antelopes for the second time in four days knowing that a win will improve their chances of making it to the finals for the first time since 2004.

In the first leg played at Bahir Dar Stadium, Kenya withstood a tough second half surge by the home side pushed on by a full-to-capacity stadium to pick up a vital point, in a 0-0 draw, that moved them closer to Cameroon.

Mulama, who also featured for a number of Kenyan clubs locally, feels that the hosts have what it takes to get the three points that will keep their hopes alive.

“We played well away, under the circumstances and a draw was a good result. It means we need three points to progress to the finals in Cameroon and I believe it is very possible.

“The momentum is with the home team and it means they can get the required result to progress. This is our big chance to make it to the finals after about fifteen years. We have big players like Victor Wanyama, Michael Olunga and the likes, who can influence the game.

“With the support we will have at home I believe things will be better and the outcome will favour us,” Mulama told Goal in an interview.

Kenya leads Group F with four points while Ghana have three and Ethiopia one.
