Larsen: Msowoya will be different at Golden Arrows

Abafana Besthende surprised many by inviting the once upon a time PSL forward for trials with a view to sign him and Larsen spoke to Goal about him

Lamontville Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen says that Chiukepo Msowoya will get a chance to shine for the club.

The Malawi international turned out for Orlando Pirates and Platinum Stars in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) several seasons ago.

“I don’t think he played that many games at Pirates and Platinum (Stars). So, players can’t be judged when they sit on the stands,” Larsen told Goal.

“So we are hoping he gets that type of service that all strikers require to score. He’ll do much better than at his previous clubs,” he continued.

“He comes off two good seasons in Malawi. If you look at his recent track-record of scoring goals, it’s quite good. So he has got some form behind him which always helps,” Larsen said.

Furthermore, Larsen says he is completely different to their other front-men as he boast a powerful shot on him.

“He is different from the other strikers we have got because he is an out-and-out target man who holds the ball up and is decent in the air," he added.

“He has a powerful shot on him so he is different to (Sibusiso) Sibeko, (Lerato) Lamola and even Knox Mutizwa. So he brings something different to the team,” Larsen concluded.
