A source within the Kenyan Premier League champions has intimated to Goal that the burly defender is on his way out of the club. “Mohammed has received a good offer from Tirana, one that he cannot resist. Gor Mahia have already discussed with the club and the player could move anytime soon.”
This comes just a day after Gor Mahia submitted a list of 30 players to Caf with Mohammed leading the line. Gor Mahia will represent Kenya in the lucrative Caf Champions League.
When reached for comment Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda confirmed that Mohammed was out of the country attending trials in Turkey. “Musa is away in Turkey attending trials. I have not heard of anything to do with Tirana. And if indeed he ends up in Tirana then we will know.
“Let him also try out because that is the way to go. I exactly don’t know which club in Turkey and it is true that we have submitted his name to Caf because we know he is attending trials and might come back.”
Tirana have reportedly signed another Gor Mahia player in Kenneth Muguna. The Albanian second-tier side is coached by Jose Marcelo Ferreira, formerly of Gor Mahia.
This news could not go down well with K’Ogalo fans as the club had last year promised to report Tirana to Fifa ‘if they do not stop approaching their players illegally.’
Apart from Musa Mohammed and Muguna, the club is also interested in signing Godfrey Walusimbi, Oliver Maloba and Jacques Tuyisenge.
