Asante Kotoko have dismissed policy analyst Dr Amo Sarpong, who fired gunshots outside the Golden City Park while his side was preparing to face Berekum Chelsea on Matchday 8.

Sarpong was handed a sack letter from the Porcupines management on Friday, according to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

A police report said he fired several shots near his car following a mob attack on him and his colleague. Both men sustained light injuries and were taken to the hospital.

However, Sarpong was suspended from all football-related activities for six months by the Disciplinary Committee of Ghana Football Association (GFA) for wrongful use of a firearm.

Kotoko will host Medeama on Sunday in Zone A’s top of the table clash in the GFA Special Competition.
