Kiongera: AFC Leopards will not disappoint this season

Striker Paul Kiongera has urged Ingwe fans to remain calm after the team moved to the top of the 18-team KPL table

AFC Leopards had a difficult time last season and went on to finish the league in an unfamiliar 13th position.

It was an embarrassing moment for both the players and fans, and what made it more difficult are the taunts by bitter rivals Gor Mahia. Striker Paul Kiongera has promised the fans that is not going to happen this season, saying the club will definitely register improved result.

"It is too early to say that we are going to win the Kenyan Premier League. We have just played three matches and we are remaining with thirty five. However, we are better and well prepared than last season," Kiongera told Goal.

"We will do our best on the pitch and our main aim is to finish in a respectable position. All I am promising is that we will win more games and pose a serious challenge."

AFC Leopards were held to a barren draw by visiting Ulinzi Stars on Wednesday.
