Kevin-Prince Boateng scored three goals as Sassuolo thrashed Wipptal 7-0 in a friendly tie on Tuesday evening.
The midfielder who impressed last term featuring in 31 league games and scoring six times to help Eintracht Frankfurt claim a Europa League spot before his departure from the side in July, was on hand to give his new club a flying start in their build up to the 2018-19 season.
The former Schalke 04 player found the net in the 25th minutes after Stefano Sensi had put the Mapei Stadium-Citta del Tricolore’s outfit in front.
Boateng followed it up with another effort three minutes later before completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
Domenico Berardi, Filippo Bandinelli and Filippo Bandinelli got a goal each to complete the rout in the encounter.
Boateng will hope to continue the fine form when Sassuolo lock horns with Sudtirol in their next game on July 25.
