Kevin-Prince Boateng gets fourth assist in Barcelona whitewash

The Canary Islanders lost at home to Barcelona but the Ghanaian striker got his fourth assist of the season for his side

Kevin-Prince Boateng notched his fourth assist of a great personal season but Las Palmas fell 4-1 at home to Barcelona on Sunday.

The Ghanaian striker has scored 10 goals this season, his highest-ever haul in a single campaign, during his first season in Spain.

His fourth assist of the campaign was overshadowed by the trouncing the Canary Islanders suffered at the hands of the deadly duo of Neymar and Luis Suarez who combined for the four goals.

The Brazilian grabbed a hat trick while the Uruguayan scored once.

Boateng’s assist came in the 63rd minute when Las Palmas launched a swift counter attack and the Ghanaian sent a pinpoint pass into the box for Pedro Bigas to strike home after Neymar and Suarez had put the visitors 2-0 up in the first half.

Neymar would go on to add a brace to finish his hat-trick as the Catalans continue their chase of the Liga title against rivals Real Madrid who also won 4-1 at home against Sevilla.

Boateng has played 25 times for the Islanders all season.
