Katsina United drop Nwachukwu for Rivers United trip

The Chanji Boys will head to Port Harcourt without their defender after he sustained an injury on his shoulder

Katsina United's Ikechukwu Nwachukwu has suffered a shoulder injury and will miss his side's clash with Rivers United on Monday.

The defender picked the injury in training on Friday and was immediately checked up at an Orthopedic hospital in Katsina. 

In a statement, the club has announced that Ikechukwu will be out for at least two weeks.

"It was a minor shoulder injury. He has been treated and he's recovering now," the statement read.

"Certainly, he can't play for now. He's automatically ruled out of Monday's game away to Rivers United. Hopefully, he will be back in training next week," it concluded.

Ikechukwu joins the long list of injuries of the club which also has Chinedu Udechukwu, Musa Suleman, Destiny Ashadi, Usman Bello and Joshua Agboola, who is out of the season.
