Ajax Cape Town have unveiled Mamelodi Sundowns winger Katlego Otladisa as their latest signing in the 2019/20 season.

The Urban Warriors are determined to plot their way back to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after narrowly missing out on a playoff spot last time around.

Nonetheless, Ajax have unveiled Otladisa as one of the players to help them in their quest and announced a loan deal had been struck between the two clubs on Monday afternoon.

The move means Otladisa will remain in Cape Town after he previously spent last season out on loan at Cape Umoya United.

With competition for places at Sundowns stiff, coach Pitso Mosimane will hope the former Platinum Stars winger uses the opportunity to prove himself.

Since joining Sundowns, the 22-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut having been reduced to just a few appearances with the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challenge team in the past.

Last season, Otladisa featured in just 10 National First Division (NFD) games for Umoya and scored one goal in a season which saw the club finish 10th on the league standings.

Meanwhile, Otladisa will be one of several other new faces at the club. Ajax recently confirmed the signings of Dutch goalkeeper Nick Hengelman and former Sundowns striker Eleazar Rodgers, among others.

Ajax begin their campaign with a clash against Free State Stars on August 17, and with the recent announcement by the PSL confirming a boost in prize money, they will be even hungrier to reach the top of South African football’s second tier.
