Despite experiencing poor form, the Kano-based side finished their first round campaign in 12th position with no win in six successive matches.
The fans’ boss insists no hope is lost yet as he anticipates the Sai Masu Gida hitting their good form in the second stanza.
“Kano Pillars are really facing a difficult time. But we still have a chance to win the title in the second round,” Jide told Goal.
“If I can draw you back to how we won the Nigeria Professional Football League title in the 2007/2008 season under coach Kadiri Ikhana.
“At the end of the first round, we were in the 13th position but we ended up winning the league title then. I believe strongly that this year will not be an exception.
"We have put everything in the hands of God and intensify our prayers. And advice the players to work hard to ensure the team does well again.
“If the management will heed to our advises, I don’t see us not winning the [Nigerian league] title this season.
“Even if we don’t win the title, I believe we will finish in the top three places at the end of the season. The sky is our limit.”
