Darren Anderton is backing Dele Alli and Harry Kane to dazzle at Euro 2016.
The pair played a crucial role in Tottenham’s title tilt this season and have been in similarly devastating form for England since being handed a chance by Roy Hodgson.
Both are likely to play a key role in England’s campaign in France and Anderton believes their fearless approach could be crucial this summer.
“They don’t look fazed by anything,” says Anderton.
“Everything they’ve done in their career has been positive. They don’t know how to fail at the moment, which is a great thing.
“Alli has such a good understanding with Harry – as we’ve seen with Spurs this season – and that can only benefit England.
“Harry has been sensational from the minute he got in the first team a few years ago. It has been an incredible ride and this tournament is set-up very nicely for him to go out there and add to his reputation.”
The only question mark for Anderton is the position Alli plays in Hodgson’s side.
“I just hope that Dele Alli is played in his right position,” he says.
“I thought in the Portugal game he was out on the left far too much. You want him in that area between the midfield and the centre-forward coming onto things and making things happen.”
