Amakhosi's accomplished forwards Bernard Parker and Lebogang Manyama are currently nursing injuries, while midfielder Andriamirado 'Dax' Andrianarimanana is slowly regaining his full fitness.
"We are protecting some players, as they are not fully match fit. Remember, Dax arrived at the club carrying a niggling injury," Solinas told the club's official website.
Andrianarimanana, who is a Madagascar international, has made only one appearance for Chiefs this season.
"He is getting there, but it will take a bit of time to catch up with the rest of the team," the former Free State Stars head coach continued.
The well-traveled tactician explained that they will use the upcoming Fifa international break to allow injured players to fully recover.
"We will use the upcoming FIFA break to prepare the team for this clash," the 50-year-old trainer added.
Amakhosi have struggled in front of goal in recent times having netted twice in their last three matches in all competitions.
The return of Parker and Manyama would be a welcome boost for the Soweto giants as they look to avenge the recent 2-1 defeat to Pirates in a league clash.
"We hope that Manyama and Parker will return to full fitness during the period to add firepower (to) our offensive play," he concluded.
Chiefs will play host to their Soweto rivals Pirates in the 2018 Telkom Knockout Cup semi-final match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 24 November.
