Kaizer Chiefs are under pressure, says SuperSport winger Phala

Amakhosi have lost their last two competitive matches in the past two weeks which has put increasing pressure on the side

SuperSport United midfielder Thuso Phala believes that Kaizer Chiefs are under pressure following defeats to them in the Nedbank Cup and Cape Town City in the PSL in midweek.

“I think they are under pressure. Their confidence is a bit dented because we knocked them out of the Nedbank Cup and then they lost to Cape Town City when they were trying to move up the table,” Phala told the Saturday Star.

SuperSport are eager to do the double over Chiefs in a PSL match at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.

“If we beat them that means we bring them closer to us in terms of the points difference. I believe we are genuinely still in this mini-race for the league title," Phala said.

“We are not an easy team to play in Nelspruit.

“I think we are more confident than they are as we have managed two consecutive wins having struggled over the last few weeks,” Phala added.

Phala, who will be lining up against his former club Chiefs, was the hero in midweek when he scored the winner against Bidvest Wits in a PSL match.
