The 30-year-old missed four games for the Old Lady prior to the international break but is set to return against Marco Giampaolo’s side

Mehdi Benatia will be available for selection when Juventus trade tackles with Sampdoria in Sunday’s Italian Serie A encounter..

The defender was taken off at halftime in the Old Lady's 2-1 win over Sporting in a Uefa Champions League fixture on October 18 and, thus, missed their next four fixtures in the league.

But after leading the Atlas Lions to their first World Cup appearance since 1998 last weekend, the former Bayern Munich stalwart has declared himself fit for the clash against La Samp.

“I feel much better,” Benatia told Sky Italia.

“It was a bit difficult because I missed four games with Juve, and I want to take this opportunity to thank the medical staff because they did an amazing job.

“I could have been called-up for the match with Benevento, but I hadn’t trained during the week.

“Then I played with the national team [Morocco] and I was fine during the game.

“I really want to thank Juve for everything they’ve done for me. It helped me a lot because being Morocco captain, I couldn’t miss this game, and now I want to restart with the team."

On Sunday's encounter at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, Benatia said: “It’ll be a nice battle, because Sampdoria are a good team, especially in Genoa, where they always play well.

“We know it will be difficult but there are three points up for grabs and we have to get them at all costs so we can get closer to the top.

“They have a good team and we know it’ll be difficult, but I repeat: we have the ability to go there to win," he concluded.

Benatia will be looking to get his fourth league cap this term when Juventus go in search of maximum points against Marco Giampaolo's men.

The Turin outfit have garnered 31 points from 12 games, a point behind Serie A leaders Napoli.
