Swansea City ace Alfie Mawson has lauded striker Jordan Ayew ahead of Tuesday’s home clash with Arsenal in the Premier League.

The Ghana international has been in outstanding form lately, having netted three times in seven games under new club manager Carlos Carvalhal.

A solo effort against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup earlier this month sits top of his goals, as the 26-year-old beat about five men to plant the ball beyond the goalkeeper.

“I think we are seeing the best of Jordan,” said, Mawson, as reported by his club’s official website.

“If you see what he does in training he is a different gear. He is really coming into his own.

“I think Carlos is putting a lot of confidence and belief into him and he has dealt with it well.

“We know what he can do and bring to the team. He is a top-class act and he is showing that for us.”

Jordan, who joined the Jack Army in January last year, has made 24 Premier League appearances, involving 21 starts for Swansea so far this season.

With Carvalhal’s men currently bottom of the league table but tied with West Bromwich Albion and two points behind 18th-placed Southampton, three points at the expense of Arsenal at Liberty Stadium will give the Swans’ relegation fight a huge boost.
