The win lifted Zesco to the top of Group 'C' for at least 24 hours ahead of hosts CRD Libolo and Sudanese side Al Hilal Obeid’s match in Calulo, Angola on Sunday. Zesco and Smouha went to the break scoreless but the home side wasted gilt edged chances in the first half.

Smouha goalkeeper Mohamed Gabaski denied Idris Mbombo twice in the 17th and 19th minutes while Dave Daka sent his shot inches wide of the near post in the 43rd minute.

Zesco lead on 3 points, Smouha are bottom of Group C on zero points as the two sides await Sundays’ result in Angola.
