Jesse Were optimistic ahead of DRC clash

The striker believes that Kenya will overcome DRC on Sunday

Zesco United forward Jesse Were is optimistic that Harambee Stars will floor DR Congo on Sunday in an international friendly match to be played at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Kenya was held to a one all draw by visiting neighbours Uganda Cranes on Thursday despite dominating the proceedings. Were says the Stars have definitely learnt their lesson and they will push harder for a win.

"The fact remains that we dominated against Uganda. Unfortunately, we did not take our chances and at long last ended sharing the spoils. It was a disappointing result but we have to focus on our next match.

"Congo DR is a good side and it will give us a real challenge. However we are prepared for them. A win is what we are going for and I believe we will get it," he told Goal.

Kenya won by a solitary goal the last time the two sides clashed.
