ISL 2018-19: Cesar Ferrando - Too early for Jamshedpur to think about the title

Jamshedpur FC head coach Cesar Ferrando was pleased with the performance of his team as they defeated Chennaiyin FC 3-1 at the Tata Sports Complex on Sunday.

Pablo Morgado scored a stunning goal to open the scoring and Carlos Calvo doubled the lead from the spot. Raphael Augusto pulled one back for the visitors but Mario Arques' header sealed three points for the hosts.

Cesar Ferrando is happy with the result but maintained the need to keep improving if Jamshedpur are to put pressure on the table-toppers.

"I want to win trophies definitely but it's too early to think about the championship. I am very happy with my team so far and I am thinking about NorthEast United match now.

"We conceded the penalty due to a silly mistake. We also made some mistake as well. But overall, the defence did well. We have to improve every match. If we want to remain at the top we have to improve," Ferrando said.

Jamshedpur's Gourav Mukhi was suspended by the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee for fudging details concerning his age. The forward is set to be replaced by Goan defender Augustin Fernandes.

"Mukhi's ban a big blow for us. We will see if we can sign a new player either from Jamshedpur or outside.

"I have seen Augustin in videos. He is a good defender. I want my centre back to play with the ball more. Augustin is fitting in the style which I like to play, start the attacks from the backline. But the window is closed now. So let's see."
