ISL 2017: FC Goa wins second consecutive friendly in Spain

FC Goa scalped their second win on the trot in Spain as they outclassed CD Algar 3-1 on Tuesday. A brace from Manuel Lanzarote and a goal from Ferran Corominas sealed a comfortable win for the Goan side.

The Gaurs were in control of the game from the very beginning and dominated the possession. But against the run of play, Algar drew first blood in the match in the 14th minute from the penalty spot. Seriton Fernandes committed a poor foul inside the box and the referee did not hesitate to point towards the spot.

FC Goa came close to net an equaliser on several occasion in the first half but the Spanish outfit held on to their 1-0 lead at the half time.

The Goan side looked hungry for their opening goal from the very beginning as they went all out. Their efforts were finally rewarded in the 58th minute when Ferran Corominas found the back of the net from Lanzarote’s eye-catching free-kick.

FC Goa took the lead in the 63rd minute through Lanzarote’s strike and got their insurance goal in the 83rd minute.

FC Barcelona youth product Lanzarote took his goals tally to three from four matches with the double strike against Algar.

After the Spain sojourn, the 2015 ISL runner-ups are scheduled to play friendly matches against I-League giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan on November 3rd and 9th respectively in Goa.
