Delhi Dynamos are up against Indian Super League (ISL) side Chennaiyin FC in a crucial encounter on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi.

While Miguel Angel Portugal's side almost have no chance of making it into the play-offs, Chennaiyin FC are very much in need of at least two wins to secure their berth in the knockout stages.

The Lions have secured just seven points from 12 matches are placed at the bottom of the league table.

On being asked as to why his team has performed miserably this season, the former Rayo Vallecano coach said, "The reason is very simple. When the ball is in the air we have faced problems. We have conceded 14 goals from corners and converted just one corner into a goal. When the ball is in the ground, we played well. We are playing with speed. We have a good combination."

Dynamos will miss several players due to injury concerns against Chennaiyin FC. The good news is that Spanish goalkeeper Xabi Irureta will be back in contention for a start.

"We have three-to-four injuries. We are training very hard. The players injured are Albino Gomes, Pritam Kotal (picked up an injury last match), Nandhakumar Sekar and Edu Moya. Pratik Choudhury is out due to a sanction. We will have new defence tomorrow."

Delhi Dynamos have conceded 29 goals this season and have managed to score just 13. This clearly shows how vulnerable they have been in the ongoing season.

"We are trying hard in training but the mentality and aggression is lacking in the team. That is what the problem is," rued Portugal.
