India U17 National Team: Luis Norton's boys play out a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint Leu

India's U17 World Cup team played out a 1-1 draw with French second division outfit Paris Saint Leu in the French Capital on Tuesday (May 16, 2017) as part of the Indian colts' European exposure tour in preparation for the FIFA U17 World Cup to be held later this year.

Coach Luis Norton de Matos' boys started the half well and hogged the possession for most parts of the first half but were unable to convert their dominance into goals. Shubham saw a shot saved in the 28th minute while Boris was always a threat on the flanks but the goal eluded the visitors as both teams went into the break on a level footing.

However, the French side took the lead in the 58th minute after a poor clearance from Dheeraj was capitalised on by Remi who had the ball in the back of the net.

But the young Tigers found an equaliser in the 72nd minute through Komal Thatal. The youngster latched on to a long punt forward by the goalkeeper and promptly finished past the opposition custodian to level the scores.

Neither team could fashion a winner as the game ended 1-1. But Luis Norton de Matos would have taken heart from the fact that they have ended a four-game losing streak with this result on this tour.
