Ikorodu High School's Johnson thumbs up players

The head coach of the ladies from Ikorodu school has saluted his girls for their superb performance in their quarter final clash

Ikorodu Senior High School head coach, Omo Johnson is delighted with his sides 6-0 victory over Lekki Community High School in the ongoing GTBank Principals Cup at the Onikan Stadium on Tuesday.

Two goals each from Daniel Gift and Arinwa Nkechi and one goal apiece from Sofiat Nosiru and Mohammed Motunrayo ensured the Ikorodu girls pulled through to the last four of the tournament.

And the handler is satisfied with his players, saying they played to his instructions which was why they held possession all through the game.

“It makes me happy, and this also means that we are playing as a team because we have started preparing for this tournament since last year,” Ikorodu’s Johnson told Goal.

“We were beaten in the group stage last year and that was why we started preparations early.

“My girls played to my instructions reasons we were able to dominate and score more goals.”

Johnson admits his side last four encounter will be tough, but insisted that he will allow his side’s performance speak for him after the game.

“Going into semifinal, we have to work hard because we don’t know who we will be facing at the moment, but we will allow our performance speak for us.”
