The 28-year-old continued his impressive form for Chen Jingang’s side as they breezed past Tianjin Tigers in a Chinese topflight outing

Nigeria international, Odion Ighalo scored his 12th goal of the season in Changchun Yatai’s 5-1 demolition of Tianjin Teda in the Chinese Super League encounter on Friday.

Anzur Ismailov opened the scoring five minutes before the quarter half-hour mark and quick successful goals from Marinho and Rui Yu ensured that the Changchun outfit went into the break three goals up.

In the second half, Xiaodong Fan increased the margin after he fired home in the 48th minutes before Ighalo added to the woes of their hosts when he breached their backline to mark the fifth goal in the outing. A consolation goal from Yuanyi Li could do little to hurt Jingang’s side.

Ighalo’s compatriot Mikel Obi featured for the full duration of the match but could not save his side from the heavy defeat and he was cautioned in the 62nd minute.

Changchun Yatai will face Hebei in their next Chinese top flight clash on September 24.
