The tactician has implored the state government to airlift Sai Masu Gida to Lagos ahead of their midweek semi-final duel with Chanji Boys

Kano Pillars' Ibrahim Musa has appealed to the Kano State government to choose the option of airlifting the team to Lagos to enable them to remain fresh and competitive ahead of Wednesday’s Federation Cup semi-final fixture against Katsina United.

Sai Masu Gida qualified for the last four on Sunday in Gombe after they defeated four-time champions of the competition, Enyimba 4-2.

Stephen Chukwude had given the People’s Elephant an early lead in the 10th minute before goals from Rabiu Ali, Chris Madaki, Ifeanyi Nweke and Nyima Nwagua turned the initiatives to Sai Masu Gida but there was still time for Sunday Adetunji to reduce the tally for Enyimba.

Having booked a semi-final ticket, Musa disclosed that they are confident of scaling through to the final of the Federation Cup at the expense of their neighbours, Katsina United.

“We will win. We are on a good run as we were unbeaten in the last eight matches of the league season and we only lost once in the Federation Cup while winning the other five games,” Musa told Kano Pillars Media.

“We will want to appeal to the government to fly the team to Lagos to reduce the stress on us. We ought to have scored more goals against them in the first half. Enyimba are a great team but were unlucky not to beat them after they held us to a draw in the league in Kano.

“We were the better team and we deserved our win.”

Kano Pillars have qualified for the semi-final of the Federation Cup for the first time since 2012 when they got to the same stage before losing to Lobi Stars who went ahead to be beaten by Heartland of Owerri in the final in Lagos.
