FC Pune City reserves were held to a goalless draw by Real Kashmir in their opening Group A game of the 2017-18 2nd Division I-League at the TRC Turf Ground in Srinagar on Wednesday.

The Pune based club had some familiar names in the starting XI as former Mohun Bagan player Chesterpoul Lyngdoh featured on the wings. Tarif Akhand and Sebastian Thangmuansang who donned the colours of Chennai City in the recently concluded I-League started as part of the back four along with Indian Arrows' right back Ashish Rai.

Despite featuring popular names in their lineup, a resilient Real Kashmir side held the Stallions' reserve team to a 0-0 scoreline at the end of regulation time.

In the other match of the day, FC Kerala put three past a hapless Madhya Bharat Sports Club at the EMS Corporation stadium in Kozhikode.

Sreyas V.G (23') opened the scoring for Kerala utilizing their dominance in possession. Bala Alhassan Dahir doubled the lead for the home side to mark their superiority over the club from Bhopal. Madhya Bharat SC coach responded by making two changes in quick successions to turn their fortunes around.

But Dahir scored his second of the match just before the end of regulation time to seal a fantastic performance for the Southerners.
