The newcomer in India's top-flight league has had a lifestyle brand invest in them.....

Chennai City FC (CCFC), who are playing their first ever I-League season, have announced a strategic partnership with global lifestyle brand 'Baako'. 

Koh Soon Feng, one of the promoters of Baako range of global premium lifestyle products, said, "CCFC is a budding team in our I-League and has stood for a fair and sporty approach to every game it plays. This resonates with what our brand stands for. We are happy to be associated with CCFC." 

Chennai City inspired by Jallikattu

Baako has bought stakes in the club and will play a part in all the ventures of Chennai City FC. It was also announced that the team will be rebranded as 'Baako CCFC'.

Team owner Rohit Ramesh also revealed plans for building a football academy in the state while also asserting that the club will promote local talents. 

Chennai City FC are currently ninth in the I-League table, with just a point from 4 games.
