Henry Onyekuru bags first brace for Anderlecht

Henry Onyekuru bagged his first brace for Anderlecht as they narrowly edged past Lokeren 3-2 in a thrilling Belgian First Division A outing on Friday.

The on loan striker from Everton registered the first goal of the clash few minutes after the kick-off after connecting well with Olivier Deschacht’s sublime pass.

Serbian Marko Miric soon restored parity to his side after getting the better of goalkeeper Frank Boeckx and Ari Skulason gave Peter Maes’ tutored side their first lead in the encounter six minutes after the half-hour mark.

Onyekuru completed his brace in the 77thh minutes while Lukasz Teodorczyk scored the winning goal at the death.

The striker who scored 22 goals for Eupen last season to emerge the highest goal scorer will be looking forward to surpassing last term’s goal mark.

With the result, Anderlecht are seventh on the log with eight points from six games and the Nigerian will be expected to be at his best when they square up with Bayern Munchen on Tuesday in the Uefa Champions League.
