Hazard says Chelsea feels like 'second home' amid Real Madrid links

Eden Hazard has described Chelsea as his “second home” and reiterated that he is “happy” amid Real Madrid transfer talk.

The Belgium international has sparked speculation again on the back of his exploits in a Premier League title-winning campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old contributed a personal best 16 goals to the Blues’ top-flight campaign in 2016-17, with those efforts seeing him edge out N’Golo Kante to land the club’s Player of the Year award.

Hazard is aware of the uncertainty regarding his future, but insists that he is paying little attention to rumours as he sets his sights on further major trophies in west London.

Hazard planning Chelsea stay

He told Chelsea’s official website: “I’ve spent five years here, I know everything about the club.

“Even if I’m still only 26 I have a lot of experience now. I started playing at 16 in France so I’ve been professional for 10 years.

“I like it here because it’s a family club. I have a lot of friends and we all talk to each other. In terms of games and experience I’m one of the oldest players and that’s good.

“This is my second home and I’m happy at Chelsea. I just want to keep going, maintain this intensity and continue to win trophies.”

Hazard will be chasing down the Champions League trophy in 2017-18 which Madrid successfully defended against Juventus on Saturday, with the Belgian hoping to see Antonio Conte bring in “a couple” of additions to aid that quest.

“The Champions League is a very difficult competition with many good teams who are capable of reaching the semi-finals and the final,” he added.

Terry: CL win my best career moment

“You never know, but if we continue with the way we’ve been playing this season we can go far.

“Maybe with a couple of new players to take the level even higher we can do well, but it’s not just about quality, you also need a bit of luck.”

Hazard joined Chelsea on their back of their 2012 Champions League triumph and has taken in two Premier League successes, a League Cup win and Europa League glory with the club.
