Kakamega County Governor, Wycliffe Opranya will foot AFC Leopards bills during their three-day stay in Kakamega.
Ingwe arrived in Kakamega on Wednesday as they prepare to face Fosa Juniors of Madagascar in the first leg match of Caf Confederation Cup at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday.
A top source within club management has confirmed to Goal that the governor has pledged to host the team in Kakamega as they prepare for the continental task.
“Governor Oparanya will host the team. He will pay everything during their stay in Kakamega and all he wants is a win on Sunday.”
This will come as a big boost for the club that is currently struggling financially following the withdrawal of SportPesa as shirt sponsors in January.
Ingwe chairman Dan Mule has also urged fans to turn out in large numbers and cheer the team on Sunday. “The team is ready to play and all we need now is for the fans to come in large numbers. We have a good squad and they have promised they will not disappoint.”
