Gor Mahia faithful have a reason to be worried following the exit of Rwandan striker Meddie Kagere.

Goal has learnt that the striker is holding talks with Tanzania giants Simba SC after K’Ogalo refused to give him an improved package following the expiry of his contract.

A source privy to happenings at the club has told Goal that the management is reluctant in giving the player what he wants.

“Kagere and his agent presented their wishes and requested the terms to be improved considering the player has been instrumental on the team's run. But they are reluctant and that has prompted the player to seek greener pastures elsewhere. It will be a blow to us if he leaves.”

The source further revealed that apart from Kagere more players have expressed their wish to leave. “It is not going to be easy unless the management gives in to demands from players. Every player in Gor Mahia is now a target for top clubs in the region, and any club that comes with a better offer they will definitely leave.”

Goal also understands Kagere will receive a sign on fee of approximately Sh 600, 000 with the player earning close to Sh300, 000 a month and other benefits that includes a car and a full furnished apartment.

Gor Mahia is currently in the Group stages of Caf Confederation Cup, top of the Kenyan Premier League, in the last sixteen of the Shield Cup and will also take part in the Kagame Cup in Tanzania as well as face Everton FC next month in an international friendly match.
