Ndirangu was released by Gor Mahia after he was deemed surplus

Gor Mahia midfielder John 'Softie' Ndirangu is headed for a season-long loan move at Kakamega Homeboyz.

Ndirangu was released by Gor Mahia last December after he was deemed surplus to requirement by the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions.

Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula confirmed to Goal that Ndirangu has secured a move at Kakamega for the next one year. "Ndirangu will join us for one year but on loan not on a permanent deal."

Last December, Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda confirmed that they had asked the player to get a new club. “We have released Ndirangu because his performance was way below what we expected from him last season.

"We cannot guarantee him playing time because of the signings we have done and have agreed that he gets a new club."

Ndirangu signed for Gor Mahia from rivals AFC Leopards last year.
