Gor Mahia lodge complaint to KPL over awards

Zoo Kericho's Michael Madoya stole the show with four awards including MVP trophy

Gor Mahia have lodged a protest letter to Kenyan Premier League over the ‘shambolic’ awards that saw the champions walk home empty handed.

Despite winning the league title with 19 points margin, Gor Mahia players were not recognized in the just concluded KPL awards gala.

Zoo Kericho's Michael Madoya stole the show with four awards, including the 2017 Most Valuable Player. K'Ogalo deputy Secretary General Ronald Ngala is still short of words following his players' snub.

"I do not know the system or criteria that was used to select the winners, but the outcome shows that everything is completely wrong. No pun intended, but how comes the MVP came from the team that struggled while there are teams, not necessarily Gor Mahia, that could have been given the award?

"Remember Tusker FC 2016? As a Matter of fact, I have written to the KPL over the same. This has to stop, it is ridiculing real winners."

The Green Army won the Team Manager of the year award that went to Jolawi Obondo
