Dylan Kerr singled out Ephraim Guikan for praise after the Ivorian netted a brace in a Gor Mahia’s 4-0 victory over Yanga in the Caf Confederation Cup on Wednesday.
Guikan became the sixth Gor Mahia player after William Ouma, Allan Thigo, Peter Dawo, Sammy Onyango and Paul Kiongera to score a brace in a continental stage.
The left-footed forward scored in either half to help K’Ogalo pick their maiden victory in the group stages and his performance did not escape the eyes of his manager.
“I really congratulate striker Ephraim for grabbing a brace. I hope he will continue scoring going forward.”
With five points so far in the bag, just two adrift of Group D leaders USM Alger, Kerr is optimistic that he will go far in the competition.
“My aim is to shock Africa by going further in this competition,” added the Briton.
Gor Mahia will travel to Tanzania for the return leg against Yanga on July 29.
